The College Application Checklist

October is College Application Month! 

(It's also National Book; Work and Family; Breast Cancer Awareness; CyberSecurity Awareness; Filibpino American History; LGBT History; Bullying Prevention; Physical Therapy; Pharmacist; Polish American Heritage; Art & Humanties; Domestic Violence; Spina Bifida Awareness; Child Health; Lung & Clean Air; Dental Hygene; Let's Talk; Down Syndrome Awareness; Pastor Appreciation; and ....Arab American Heritage Month)

Perhaps it's not surprising that College Application Month gets crowded out.  

Here is the checklist we are given:



APPLICATIONS

• Request Application/Information forms from the Colleges
• Determine the Regular Application Deadline
• Determine the Early Application Deadline

GRADES

• Request High School Transcripts sent to Colleges
• Request mid-year grade reports sent to Colleges

TEST SCORES

• Send SAT and/or ACT scores
• Send SAT Subject Test Scores
• Send AP Scores

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

• Request Recommendations
• Send Thank you notes for those who wrote letters.

ESSAYS

• Write essay(s)
• Proof essay(s) for spelling and grammar.
• Have two people read (and Proof) your essay.

INTERVIEWS

• Interview at College
• Alumni Interview
• Send Thank You notes to interviewer(s).

SEND & TRACK YOUR APPLICATION

• Make copies of all Application Materials
• Apply online
• Include Application Fee
• Sign Application
• Confirm Receipt of application materials.
• Send Supplemental Material if needed.

FINANCIAL AID FORMS

• Priority Financial aid deadline
• Regular Financial adi deadline
• Mail FAFSA
• Submit CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE if needed
• Mail institutional aid form, if needed.
• Mail state aid form, if needed.

AFTER YOU SEND YOUR APPLICATION

• Receive Admission Letter
• Receive financial award letters
• Send Deposit
• Send Final Transcript
